Full range of Brown Brothers Origins Series wines

Behind every great wine is the story of its origin

Origins Series

A contemporary evolution of our 1889 range of table wines, the Origins Series celebrates the beginnings of some of our most innovative wine varietals by bringing to life their story and sense of place. Each wine in this collection is vibrant, bold, and expressive; crowd-pleasing on the inside, with a distinctive label to match.

Pairing wine with food is all about balance.

What to drink, and when? Your guide to seasonal wine & food pairings.

When the seasons change, so do our tastes and cravings. What we crave in the summer may not be what we desire in the winter; and as wine lovers, it’s important to fill our glasses according to the mood and weather, the food we eat, and the occasions we’re celebrating.

The hallmarks of Fiano are everything we look for in a summer white .

Whilst perhaps lesser-known of the Italian grape varieties, the classic hallmarks of Fiano are everything we look for in a summer white: racy acidity and a textural, savoury palate that’s bountiful and bright with delicate notes of passionfruit, lemon, and lime.

Wanderlust in wine form.

Whether you’re enjoying a vibrant Tempranillo at home in Australia or sipping your way through the streets of Spain, what you feel when you open a bottle of Origins Series is the same.

You can shop the full range online, from leading retailers, and at our Milawa cellar door.

Colourful wine and food pairings for your next dinner with friends.

Matching wine to the weather is all about finding the right balance.

In the hot summer months, we crave crisp and refreshing wines that are easy to drink and pair well with lighter foods. Think Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay or Rosé. … perfect for picnics, barbecues, and outdoor gatherings.

They're light, fruity, and have a nice acidity that complements the warm weather.

As a general rule, Shiraz – a warmer climate red wine — pairs very well with grilled meats and vegetables, making barbecue season a dream. Inherently a foodie’s wine, we tend to favour grilled lamb, salami and beef brisket – as well as softer, fleshier fish like salmon. When choosing your veg, reach for grilled asparagus or garlic-roasted broccolini, and crispy, twice-cooked chat potatoes.

Pinot Grigio

When it comes to assembling your cheeseboard, you’ll find Pinot Grigio is an all-rounder; pairing well with hard cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano or aged Tasmanian cheddar, as well as silky soft burrata. A side of Sicilian olives, grilled eggplant or salted anchovies will also bring out the taste profile of a cool, crisp Grigio. For a non-meat option, try grilled portobello mushrooms!

Pasta and wine: a classic combination of flavours that simply can’t be beaten. For an easy midweek dinner, you can’t go wrong with a big bowl of spaghetti, spicy red sauce, and a juicy Tempranillo to match. Tip: don’t be afraid to add some heat; the flavours in an Amatriciana, for example, will really bring out the savoury, fruity aromas in the glass.

Matching wine to the food we eat is also crucial; the right wine can elevate the flavours of a dish while the wrong wine can overpower it.

As the temperatures drop we start to crave tastes that are richer, bolder, and more robust. Red wines like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Shiraz are perfect for autumn and winter months. They have a full body, rich flavours and pair well with heartier meals like roasts, bakes, and pasta dishes.
