Expertly crafted in our Kindergarten Winery
Inspired by our history of innovation and passionate pursuit of discovering the next best thing, the Brown Brothers Winemaker’s Series is as its name suggests: a collection of small-batch alternative varietals, unique blends and excellent single vineyard expressions chosen by our winemakers.
92 POINTS, HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION
This single-vineyard Shiraz from Heathcote is a powerful and generous wine with rich dark berry flavours, plenty of spice, and long, fine tannins for a smooth finish.
Enjoy with aged Pecorino, a mid-week pizza, or spicy meatball pasta.
Gold Medal, 2021 Royal Melbourne Wine Award
Fresh citrus, lemon blossom, and green apple are the hallmarks of a great white wine, and our Winemaker’s Series Fiano serves up nothing less. A drink-now style that’s racy and complex, the 2021 vintage is loved for its approachable palate and cool-climate acidity.
“Fiano is going places fast, and this wine is a highlight of all that’s so appealing about the Italian white grape.” - Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion 2021
Silver Medal, 2022 Royal Melbourne Wine Award
A marriage between two beloved Spanish grapes, this classic Rioja blend combines rich, bramble fruits with savoury spice. Vibrant in colour with aromas of beautiful deep plum and rich berries, enjoy with a BBQ, vegetarian paella, or lamb shoulder.
Brown Brothers isn’t your average winery, however.
On our grounds you’ll find the Kindergarten Winery, an innovative space where the winemakers experiment with small batches of wine. In the last few years, their trials have led to the creation of vegan-friendly wines and other drops that are lower in alcohol and preservatives, or simply – by way of nature – just a little bit different.
Here at Brown Brothers we like to push the boundaries of what traditional winemaking can be. Like developing new varietals, or drawing complex flavours from techniques with even more complex names… from carbonic maceration to wild ferments.
In the micro-winery we call our ‘Kindergarten’, there are no boundaries. The only rule? To fail an experiment at least once every year.
We chatted all things trial, error, and vinous evolution of the Winemaker’s Series range, with a man whose name is on the label.
