PATRICIA

The legacy of Patricia continues to unfold with each passing year, as beautifully expressive wines are brought to life. First released in 2003, the Patricia range represents the pinnacle of our viticulture and winemaking, capturing the very best of each vintage.

With every release, these wines are celebrated not only for their connection to our matriarch, but for their dedication to the enduring journey from vineyard to bottle. Crafted with care and shaped by time, they reflect both the strength of the land and the precision of our craft.

PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE

The very best in viticulture and Brown family winemaking.

More than a wine, the Patricia range is a reflection of our enduring dedication to craftsmanship and quality. Each release embodies our commitment to creating wines of depth, elegance and true expression, shaped by both tradition and thoughtful innovation. At the heart of this is our Kindergarten micro-winery, where only the finest parcels of fruit are carefully selected and guided with precision.

Every vintage of Patricia represents our pursuit of excellence in both vineyard and winery. It is a celebration of patience, care and attention to detail, honouring our heritage while continuing to evolve and refine our craft with each release.

THE WOMAN BEHIND THE LABEL

Patricia was only slight in stature, but she made up for it with her tenacious spirit.

Our matriarch and a driving force behind the growth, prosperity and culture of Brown Brothers, Patricia was an inspiration to all who knew her.

“Nanna was the unofficial CEO. She was the tea lady, the mail lady, and she welcomed every visitor with open arms. She was the people and culture manager long before roles like this even existed.”

In celebration of her bold and generous spirit, we introduced our flagship Patricia range in 2003. True to her legacy, these wines are distinctive, vibrant and full of life, built on the enduring family values that continue to shape our winemaking today.

Celebrating 23 years of Patricia

For more than two decades, we have honoured Patricia through a collection of wines that represent the pinnacle of our craft. The 2026 release continues this legacy with three exceptional wines, each a reflection of precision, patience and the finest vineyard expression.

To create wines of this calibre is both a privilege and a responsibility we hold with great pride. Only the most outstanding vintages earn the Patricia name, and we are proud to share this 23rd release as part of a legacy that will endure for generations.

High Country Elegance

Patricia Pinot Noir & Chardonnay Brut 2021

In the Glass

Pale and luminous in the glass, this sparkling wine shows a fine, persistent bead. The nose is lifted with aromas of freshly baked bread, crisp green apple and a hint of lemon zest. The palate is creamy and layered, revealing vibrant lemon and lime flavours balanced by delicate bready notes from extended lees ageing. Elegant and refined, it finishes dry with refreshing acidity and impressive length. Enjoy now or over the next three to four years.

Winemaking

Fruit for the Patricia Pinot Noir & Chardonnay Brut is sourced from the high-altitude Whitlands Plateau, where vineyards sit at around 800 metres above sea level in the cool upper reaches of the King Valley. These conditions allow the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving natural acidity and fine flavour.

The 2021 vintage is a blend of 72% Pinot Noir and 18% Chardonnay. The fruit was hand picked in mid March and whole bunch pressed, with gentle extraction to ensure purity and finesse. Secondary fermentation was carried out using the Traditional Method and extended to create a fine, persistent bead. The wine was matured on lees for five years, building complexity and texture before disgorging and final dosage.

The result is a sparkling wine that reflects both the elegance of the Patricia range and the distinctive cool-climate character of Whitlands.

Elegance, Power and Regional Diversity

Patricia Shiraz 2022

In the Glass

Deep and vibrant in the glass, this Shiraz shows a rich purple hue with an inky core. The nose is expressive with ripe blackberry and blueberry, layered with a subtle hint of cool-climate pepper spice. The palate is intense and concentrated, offering depth of flavour with impressive balance and structure. A refined, powerful wine that will continue to evolve beautifully over the next five to eight years when cellared well.

Winemaking

Fruit for the 2022 Patricia Shiraz was sourced from premium vineyards across Bendigo, Henty and Pyrenees, each contributing its own character and complexity to the final blend.

The grapes were harvested in parcels from late March through to mid April, at optimal ripeness. A portion of the Henty fruit included whole bunch fermentation to enhance structure and lift aromatic red fruit notes. The wine was then matured for 18 months in French oak, with a portion in new barrels and the balance in seasoned barriques and puncheons, building depth, texture and integration.

Bottled at 13.5% alcohol, this wine reflects the elegance, power and regional diversity that define the Patricia range.

Intensity & Precision

Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

In the Glass

Deep and inky in the glass, this Cabernet Sauvignon reveals rich aromas of blackcurrant and dried herbs, complemented by a subtle cigar box lift from fine French oak. The palate is powerful and layered, with dark berry fruit, spice and a gentle hint of nutmeg. Structured and refined, it carries impressive length through to a seamless, elegant finish. With two years of bottle age already enhancing balance and integration, this wine will continue to develop beautifully over the next six to eight years.

Winemaking

Fruit for the 2022 Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from premium vineyards across Bendigo, Yarra Valley and King Valley, each contributing depth, structure and regional character to the blend.

Harvested in early April at optimal ripeness, the fruit was destemmed and fermented in open top vessels to build richness and complexity. The wine was then matured for 16 months in French oak barriques, with a portion in new oak to enhance structure and aromatic lift, and the balance in seasoned barrels for balance and finesse.

Careful blending of parcels from low-yielding vines has resulted in a wine of intensity, precision and elegance. Bottled at 13.5% alcohol, it is a true expression of the Patricia range and its commitment to premium Australian Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Patricia range celebrates the best of the best: the best winemaking craft, with grapes from the best vineyards.
