In keeping with this philosophy, we’re very excited to invite you on a special once in a lifetime trip.
As part of a new partnership with Cruising Wine Tours, Ross and Judy Brown would like to invite our members and friends to join them on an exciting voyage, sailing from Arles to Paris on a 15 day/14-night luxury river cruise from Sept 3rd to Sept 17th, 2024, aboard an Avalon Cruises Luxury Suite Ship.
The company responsible for operating the cruise is Avalon Cruises. They have created an extraordinary French river cruise holiday. Enjoy wine, cheese, beautiful views, and stop in some of the most iconic parts of France.
The promoter of this tour, Melbourne-based Cruising Wine Tours, has enormous experience in managing European wine experiences and have asked Ross and Judy to host two ‘by invitation only’ private wine-tastings over the duration of the 15-day cruise.
Wines selected from the regions that you’ll visit will be matched with similar varieties from our Brown family cellars. Ross and Judy will pitch our Patricia Shiraz and Chardonnay against the best of Chateauneuf-de-Pape and Burgundy, and lots more.
Spend time in Paris—one of the world’s most romantic cities! Discover the true heart of Paris on a guided walk through the sites of Paris’ rich history or take a tour showing you the iconic sites of the Louvre Museum, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and more. Cruise along the beautiful Seine River, enjoying amazing views of the world’s most beautiful city.
Sail along the Seine River to the picturesque Normandy region. In Vernon, choose between two exciting, guided visits—Claude Monet’s stunning gardens at Giverny or the remarkable Bizy Castle, known as “Normandy’s Versailles.” Go on an excursion to the historic Normandy Landing Beaches, including Omaha Beach, the Point du Hoc monument, and the American Cemetery. In Rouen, go on a guided walk through the medieval quarter and visit the gothic Rouen Cathedral.
The colourful Provence countryside is featured in so many masterpieces by Vincent Van Gough. The wines of the Rhone Valley are world renowned. Further north are the lovely cities of Tournon and Lyon, the latter like a laid-back Paris. Lyon is recognised as the gastronomic centre of France, a high accolade indeed in a country which prides itself on delivering the world’s finest dining.

If for some unforeseen reason Ross and Judy Brown are unable to be present on the cruise even though the minimum number of bookings is achieved, other suitably qualified Brown Family Wine Group representative(s) will attend in their place. In the unlikely event that either situation transpire, or indeed a guest’s personal circumstances change meaning they are no longer able to make the cruise, guests who purchased Avalon’s $95pp SafetyNet Protection will have the option of cancelling or changing their booking, subject to Avalon’s cancellation fees policy.
³ One gift boxed 750ml bottle of Brown Brothers Patricia Pinot Noir and Chardonnay Extended Lees 2010 will be provided per booking i.e. whether a booking be for a double cabin or a single cabin, one bottle will be shipped to the person making the booking by Brown Family Wine Group on behalf of the promoter.
