The 2016 Pinot Gris has a bright pale straw colour.
It is perfumed with hints of pear skin and stone fruit.
Ripe fruit flavours with splashes of sweet lycees, plus a level of nuttiness derived from time on yeast lees. The finish is clean and dry with good flavour persistence and lingering acidity.
100% Pinot Gris from our Estate own Vineyards located in the Tamar Valley and East Coast of Tasmania. The 2016 vintage was excellent across the board and especially for white varietals.
Hand harvested fruit was crushed and pressed without time on skins. After pressing 10% was transferred to French oak while the balance went to tank. A combination of cultured and wild yeast was used to complete the fermentation. The wine remained on yeast lees for two months in tank to help build texture and palate weight. It was bottled with an alcohol of 13.5% a TA of 6.4g/l and a pH of 3.21.

The weight and flavour intensity of this wine make it suitable to serve with quite richly flavoured dishes including steamed barramundi infused with herbs and lemon. Or try it with a spicy blue swimmer crab laksa.
