Even our winemakers have favourites. This Shiraz from Heathcote has been selected for this special range because it’s a Shiraz with a flavour quite unique. This powerful and generous wine has rich dark berry flavours, plenty of spice and long, fine tannins for a smooth finish.

Recommended food pairings: This wine would work beautifully with a sesame beef and snow pea stir-fry on classic ramen noodles. Or why not try homemade tagliatelle with smoked eggplant and tomato. And for cheese, an aged pecorino with lavosh.
Growing Conditions: The grapes for this wine were grown in the Heathcote region of Central Victoria. The fruit was harvested from late February to late March at a range of baumé levels from 14.5 to 15.
Winemaking notes: This wine was matured in French and American oak barrels, of which 20% were new, for 12 months. The wine was bottled with an alcohol of 14.5%. Vegan-friendly.

“Brown Brothers has always been proud of the work of its small kindergarten winery in developing small batches of interesting/alternative varieties. The Winemaker’s Series gives winemakers the chance to keep small parcels of wine separate. This one is a real charmer, plummy and approachable right now, adorned in brilliant purple hues and Heathcote lifted aromatics, anise and dried herbs. The seasoning (via both French and American oak) is nicely downplayed. Lively and fresh, it’s a wine made for the table.”
