The Ten Acres Shiraz is a single vineyard wine from our award-winning Heathcote site. The artist illustration depicts John Francis Brown and his son John Charles Brown in front of the original Ten Acre plantation of vines at Milawa back in 1885.
Recommended food pairings: This wine would work beautifully with a chimichurri marinated and braised lamb shoulder and roasted Mediterranean vegetables. Or pan-fried eye fillet with a garlic mash and daikon salad. And for cheese try an aged pecorino with homemade walnut bread.
Growing Conditions: The grapes for this wine were grown at our renowned Heathcote vineyard in Central Victoria. The fruit was harvested in mid-February at a range of baumé levels from 14.5 to 15.
Winemaker: Geoff Alexander
Winemaking notes: This wine was matured in American and French oak barrels, of which 20% were new, for 12 months. The wine was bottled with an alcohol of 14.5%, a pH of 3.56 and acid level of 6.1 g/L.
