Displaying a concentrated palate of dark berry fruits with spice and pepper aromas. This beautifully bold wine embodies what our winemaking team strive for in making quality Shiraz.
Tannins are well integrated and approachable, with sumptuous mouthfeel and rewarding fleshy depths, making the ideal partner to lamb, scented with fresh garlic and rosemary.
Recommended food pairings: This wine would make a perfect partner for slow-cooked lamb and winter vegetables. Or why not try it with a grilled eye fillet of beef with a pear sauce and rocket, parmesan salad. The Patricia Shiraz is also a fantastic match with wash rind cheeses or dark chocolate.
Growing Conditions: The fruit was harvested in parcels from late March to April at baumés between 13.2 and 14.2.
Winemaker: Geoff Alexander
Winemaking notes: The parcels spent 18 months in 40% new French (15%) and American (35%) oak with the balance in older oak barriques and puncheons before bottling.
“Brooding, opaque red. Nothing shy here. Big ripe black fruit, poached plums, baked spices, lashing of high toast oak and cedar. The surprise being the nimbleness across the palate, with slightly chalky tannins and bright acidity keeping everything in check. Lots of flavours, oak and length to burn.”

“A blend of grapes from Bendigo, Henty., King Valley and Heathcote. Big, dense Syrah with dark-fleshed plum, blackberry, cassis, vanilla, anise, spice and nutty oak flavours. A heroic red that’s deliciously drinkable now but will age well. ”

“Deep, bright red/purple colour, youthful and fresh, as is the bouquet which is pepper, spicy and lush, with intensity and drive, the flavour bright and lively, with light but firm-backed tannins providing structure and a long and crisp dry finish, which leaves the mouth refreshed. It’s not heavy, just medium to full-bodied and very accessible. A very smart Shiraz, a wine I’d like to drink.”

“Brown Brothers Patricia range is impressive across the board, and this Shiraz is no exception. It is big, rich and chocolatey, with excellent palate energy, mouth-watering acidity and integrated, papery tannin. There are also some savoury oak tones and a touch of roasted meat, ensuring that the wine is balanced in its flavour spectrum. Despite its richness, the wine is not over-fruity.”
Toni Paterson 04/05/2019
“Deep colour with some evolution and aromas of mint, eucalyptus, chocolate, cherry and plump blackberry fruit.”
