Recommended food pairings: Best served with an ice bucket, sunny days and great friends, the 1889 Dry Rosé is the perfect aperitif. An excellent choice with fresh seafood – think Vietnamese prawn skewers, smoked trout blinis with crunchy summer salads. Also perfect with a watermelon and berry fruit plate and lighter cheese like brie.
Growing Conditions: Dry Rosé wines have graced the tables of casual summer dining for centuries. The spiritual home of rosé is southern France. While Spain and Italy also make extensive volumes of rosé from a number of different varieties. Rosé can come in all manner of colour and flavour. The consistent quality of good dry rosé is the refreshment value and want for more once the bottle is finished.
Winemaking notes: The 2017 Dry Rosé is a blend of a number of grape varieties including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo. The combination of varieties adds to the complexity and depth of the rosé. The grapes were harvested from early February to mid April at baumé levels ranging from 10 to 12. It was Bottled with an alcohol of 13%, a pH of 3.41 and a TA of 5.6.
