Patricia
The culmination of the very best in viticulture and winemaking
A labour of love
The legacy of Patricia continues into her 16th year – where enigmatic and beautifully expressive wines come to life. The result? A perfect blend of tenacity and grace, combining carefully selected grapes that celebrate the marriage between complexity and character, balance and depth.
The woman
Our inspiration
In honour of the woman whose tenacious spirit and generous soul helped champion the growth and prosperity of the Brown Brothers business, the strong impact of Patricia remains close to the Brown family’s hearts and the local Milawa community. An inspiration to all who knew her, the flagship Patricia range has been built upon the core family values that have been passed down through generations of Australia’s leading winemaking family today.
Our Craft
The very best in winemaking
In paying homage to its namesake, the Patricia range is the culmination of the very best in viticulture and winemaking; a labour of love celebrated not just for its matriarchal heritage, but for its dedication to the hardy and time-honoured journey from vineyard to bottle.
The range
The anticipated release of our premium Patricia range celebrates the art of traditional winemaking, lovingly produced by hand and heart. A tribute to 16 years of honouring Patricia, these wines are expressive: harmonious in palate and in nature, and a true treat for the senses.
Patricia Pinot Noir & Chardonnay Brut 2012
“Making this wine requires patience. We let the wine sit in bottle maturing on lees for six years developing the fabulous aromas and flavours before preparing it for you to share and enjoy at your finest celebrations.”
– CATE LOONEY, SENIOR WINEMAKER
| Accolades | Gold 2018 Australian Sparkling Wine Show |
|---|---|
| Variety | 70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay |
| Maturation | Matured on yeast lees in the bottle for six years |
| Region | 100% King Valley |
| Nose | Baked brioche and hints of lemon |
| Palate | Layers of creamy, yeasty flavours with citrus and granny smith apple. This wine delivers incredible high-altitude acidity balanced with appealing toastiness and a fine, delicate bead |
Patricia Chardonnay 2017
“The colour is surprisingly light, the bouquet is fresh and young, undeveloped and subtly complex, with shaved-almond and subtle honey-nougat nuances. The palate is refined and intense, bright and reserved but showing good tension and length and promise for further development. It’s still very tight and restrained and I suspect it will richly reward a year or two’s cellaring.”
– TONI PATERSON, WINE WRITER

Patricia Shiraz 2015
“The shiraz grapes were sourced from some of the finest vineyards across Victoria. This beautifully bold wine embodies what our winemaking team strive for in making quality shiraz; spice and pepper aromas, a medium and elegant palate, integrated oak and fine structured tannins”.
– GEOFF ALEXANDER, WINEMAKER

Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
“This was a terrific year for making red wines and this wine is a fabulous reflection of this. It has strong colour and tannin development with lifted varietal notes of blackcurrant and spice. It will mature nicely in the bottle over the next ten years, but I highly recommend enjoying a glass now!”
– CATE LOONEY, SENIOR WINEMAKER
| Variety | 100% Cabernet Sauvignon |
|---|---|
| Maturation | 17 months in French oak barriques; 65% new, 12% 1 year and balance in older oak |

Patricia Noble Riesling 2014
“Now isn’t this a beauty. Mid-amber hue with the promise of honey-drenched apricots, saffron-infused cumquat marmalade, and the aroma of toffee as it’s about to set. While those are richer elements at play, this shines with citrus lemony freshness, the sweetness perfectly controlled by bright acidity.”

A Note from Ross Brown
“It was our task to ask our mum if we could put her name on the bottle. She agreed with one condition; they better be bloody good!
So the Patricia range of wines is the best of the best — the best winemaking with grapes from the best vineyards. And, if the wine doesn’t meet our standards, we don’t put mum’s name on it.”
