Patricia
The culmination of the very best in viticulture and winemaking

A labour of love
The legacy of Patricia continues into her 19th year – where enigmatic and beautifully expressive wines come to life. The result? A perfect blend of tenacity and grace, combining carefully selected grapes that celebrate the marriage between complexity and character, balance and depth.

patricia brown
The woman behind the label
Patricia was only slight in stature, but she made up for it with her tenacious spirit.
Our “unofficial CEO” and driving force behind the growth, prosperity, and culture at Brown Brothers, Patricia was an inspiration to all who knew her. And just like our memory of her, these wines are distinctly unique and full of life – built upon the core family values that have been passed down through generations.

from vineyard to bottle
The very best in winemaking
Made in the Kindergarten Winery, the wines within the Patricia range are the result of meticulous blending to achieve perfect balance, depth, complexity, and varietal character – a labour of love dedicated not just to its matriarchial heritage, but for its dedication to the hardy and time-honoured journey from vineyard to bottle.
If a wine doesn’t meet the standards of Patricia, it simply won’t bear her name.
The range
The anticipated release of our premium Patricia range celebrates the art of traditional winemaking, lovingly produced by hand and heart. A tribute to 19 years of honouring Patricia, these wines are expressive: harmonious in palate and in nature, and a true treat for the senses.

Patricia Noble Riesling 2019
“The palate lingers initially with that glorious sweetness but then with a drying acidity that completes a lip-smacking feel. Half a bottle is simply not enough”
97 points, Ray Jordan
Growing Conditions | A portion of the Riesling fruit is left to hang on the vines for late harvesting, and in the warm, moist conditions brought about by morning mists and gentle autumn rains, the grapes attract the mould Botrytis Cinerea or ‘Noble Rot’. This mould grows on the grape skins, leading to loss of fluid from the berries and leaving them shrunken, shrivelled and highly concentrated in sugar and flavour. From these shrivelled grapes we produce our Noble Riesling. |
---|---|
Winemaker | Cate Looney |
Region | King Valley |
Nose | Fresh lifted aromatics and classic botrytis characters like orange marmalade, citrus and honey |
Palate | Residual sweetness, high natural acidity and a luscious, silky mouthfeel of honeysuckle and apricot |

A Note from Ross Brown
“It was our task to ask our mum if we could put her name on the bottle. She agreed with one condition; they better be bloody good!
So the Patricia range of wines is the best of the best: the best winemaking with grapes from the best vineyards. And, if the wine doesn’t meet our standards, we don’t put mum’s name on it.”
