Get To Know Cienna
1 – Cienna was created by the CSIRO in 1972 to suit the Australian climate.
2 – It is a crossing of the Sumoll and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.
3 – It was named after the colour Sienna due to its red hue.
4 – We released our first bottle of this unique variety in 2000.
5 – Brown Brothers Cienna 2017 is a light wine with a vibrant ruby red colour. It displays aromas of fresh red berry fruit and a hint of spice and a finish that is slightly fizzy.
6 – In summer, it’s a refreshing beverage to enjoy chilled.
7 – In winter, it can be made into delicious warming Gluhwein or mulled wine.
8 – Cienna is a terrific base ingredient for baked goodies such as puddings and brownies.
9 – It also makes for a fun twist on classic cocktails such as Cosmopolitans or Sangria.
10 – It is versatile enough to pair with everything from spicy hot pots to a mouth watering crushed meringue with fresh mixed berries smothered in raspberry coulis.
