Chardonnay is one of our two main squeezes out here, and this drop in particular will have you singing Yarra Valley praises. Drop the retro stereotype because cool climate Chardonnay is our jam and you should absolutely get on board.

Region: Yarra Valley

Alc/Vol: 13%

Smells like: Fresh pear, lemon, poached apple, florals and marzipan

Tastes like: Crisp, fresh and dry with a stonefruit core and citrusy pithy texture

Goes with: Paella del Mar, BBQ chicken with fresh coriander salsa verde, wash rind cheeses. Catching up on Netflix on a Sunday afternoon

Description

Wine making: Flavour development was exceptional. The valley floor provided stone fruit and honeydew melon richness while the Upper Yarra showed more citrus
flavours. The vintage was shorter than 2017 and slightly warmer than the average season providing a ripe and complex style of Chardonnay

  • Predominantly hand-picked Yarra Valley Chardonnay
  • Harvested Feb-March 2018
  • Whole bunch pressed with free run and pressings portions kept separate
  • Partial indigenous fermentation in new and seasoned French oak
  • 50% oak matured on lees, for approximately 9 months in oak
  • Barrels lees stirred monthly until winter
  • No malolactic fermentation to keep it fresh and maintain natural acidity
  • Drink now or you can hold onto it for up to 5 years, but why wait?
