Tom is responsible for all winemaking at the Kayena Winery in the Tamar Valley in Tasmania for the Tamar Ridge, Pirie and Devil’s Corner ranges. His portfolio covers outstanding Tasmanian pinot noir and cool-climate white and sparkling wines. Originally from New Zealand, Tom has a Graduate Diploma in Oenology and Viticulture from Lincoln University in Christchurch and spent five years in winemaking roles at Villa Maria in New Zealand.
Tom has worked vintages in California (Rosenblum Cellars), the Hunter Valley (Meerea Park), McLaren Vale (D’arenberg Estate) and in Bordeaux, France (Chateau Villegeorge). Tom joined Tamar Ridge in 2010 as a winemaker.
