1974 Hurdle Creek becomes home to vines
The Hurdle Creek vineyard is established on the original Brown family property, three miles from Milawa where John Francis Brown was born in 1867. Plantings include 40 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10 acres of Portuguese varieties for Port production. A further 40 acres at Milawa are planted to Traminer, Rhine Riesling and Chardonnay.
